Some of our factories are family-run businesses with decades of experience.  We like to support these businesses and their workers.  We also like to minimalise waste.

Manufacturing pottery in high volumes can produce unpredictable results. Therefore, rather than reject an item due to minor imperfections, we accept non-uniform pieces as part of our quality control procedures.

Whilst our bisque/pottery meets a high standard it is likely that some pieces may have minor flaws or dents, slight colour variations or there will be marginal differences in the sizes of the pottery (including lids or stoppers that are not a "perfect fit", thickness of the pottery and general “evidence” of hand fitted add-ons). Please be advised that some of our bisque pottery takes weeks, sometimes months, to produce.  Each item is hand-finished i.e. all cup, mug, teapot handles are added by hand.  Some items are 100% hand-made.

Any minor variances and imperfections are NOT considered manufacturing defects. They are evidence of an original, unique, one-of-a-kind, handcrafted,  hand-finished piece of artwork created by an artisan.

Our bisque is evidence of an original, unique, one-of-a-kind, handcrafted, hand-finished piece of work created by an artisan.
